M. A. thesis in the Department of History on Arab and international attitudes towards the January 25 revolution in Egypt, 2011.
The Department of History at the College of Arts held a viva for a Master of Arts thesis entitled “Arab and International Attitudes toward the January 25 Revolution in Egypt, 2011,” on August 18, 2021 at the College’s Library Hall. This thesis dealt with the January 25, 2011 revolution in Egypt, in which the Egyptian people revolted as a result of political, economic and social accumulations within 18 days, ending with the resignation of President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak and his regime on February 11, 2011.The thesis aims to study the positions of Arab, regional and international countries that did not deal in the same manner towards the Egyptian revolution. The Arab regimes, for example, were awaiting the developments of the revolution. Most of them did not show clear positions unlike their people who, since the early days, go out in protests and demonstrations in support of the revolution in Egypt. The viva’s committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Abdurazaq Saleh, and the membership of both Assistant Professor Dr. Fahd Abbas Suleiman from the University of Kirkuk and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hamza Abbas from the College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Salih Saeed.
