PHD dissertation at the Department of Arabic on Educational Styles in the Holy Qur’an through a Rhetorical Study

The Department of Arabic at College of Arts held a viva for a PHD dissertation entitled “EDUCATIONAL STYLES IN THE HOLY QUR’AN: A RHETORICAL STUDY,” on September 23, 2021 in the Hall of College of Arts.The PHD dissertation submitted by the student (Aziz Akram Aziz) in the Department of Arabic, dealt with the eloquence of educational methods, which were limited to two types, namely, verbal teaching methods and non-verbal teaching methods, and these methods played a great role in transmitting the educational message to the learners in the best way.The study focused on these two types in the Holy Qur’an for the purpose of revealing their rhetorical secrets, showing their creative energies that were included in those methods, and highlighting their ancient originality, their deep educational purposes, and their graceful educational roles.The study concluded that the educational methods in the Qur’an were charged with types of rhetorical methods and suggestive connotations, and accurate words and deep phrases foretell the greatness of these methods, and their strong effectiveness in conveying the desired meaning to the recipients, and the severity of their impact and impact on their souls.The viva committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fathi Ramadan, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdel Salam Al-Assaad from the College of Education for Girls at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Rehab Lafta Hammoud from the University of Al-Mustansiriya, Assistant Professor Dr. Ammar Ismail Ahmed, and Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Ismail Ibrahim from the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Mosul, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Asmaa Saud Idham, and Assistant Professor Dr. Abi Ibrahim Hussein from the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Mosul.
