M. A. thesis at the Department of Sociology about the elements of social relations in light of cultural diversity through a field study in the district of Hamdaniya
The Department of Sociology at College of Arts held a viva for a Master of Arts thesis entitled “THE ELEMENTS OF SOCIAL RELATIONS IN LIGHT OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY: A FIELD STUDY IN THE DISTRICT OF HAMDANIYA,” on October 19, 2021 in the Hall of College of Arts.The M. A. thesis submitted by the student (Ibrahim Mameeq Sultan) in the Department of Sociology, dealt with the elements of social relations in light of cultural diversity, through a field study in the district of Hamdaniya, which included a discussion of models from Iraqi, Arab and foreign studies. Where the study clarified the nature and components of social relations and their types between the various cultures in the center of Hamdaniya District of Nineveh Governorate.The study aimed to find out whether there are religious, national and sectarian loyalties in the judiciary that would lead to disruption of social relations between these components, in addition to identifying the extent of changes that occurred in the nature of social relations between ethnic and religious groups and their components in the district of Hamdaniya.The study showed that the majority of the respondents were between the age group (30-39) employees with a university education level or more from urban social backgrounds and with a Muslim religious majority with a percentage of Christianity.The viva committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Harith Hazem Ayoub, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Nassif Jassim Atti from Misan University and Assistant Professor Dr. Youssef Hamed Muhammad, and under the supervision and membership of lecturer Imad Ismail Jamil.
