So, the study examines the rhetorical features of women’s empowerment discourse in four selected Arab novels by two famous Arab writers, Nawal El Saadawi and Ahlam Mosteghanemi. The study aims to provide a theoretical framework that helps in drawing the dimensions of the discourse of women’s empowerment, as well as a practical clarification on how to empower women in discourses related to women’s empowerment by studying the discourse strategies used by Arab female novelists in their writings as the Fairclough Social Practice Model and Halliday’s Systematic Functional Model and Van Dijk’s Model of socio-cognitive perspective and Michelle Lazar’s feminist critical discourse perspective, and how these strategies reflect different attitudes and perspectives. The study concluded that empowerment is a process that includes reflection, evaluation and participation, which can be implemented individually or collectively, and that women’s empowerment is a feminist issue in itself that belongs to the second global feminist movement. The viva committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Kamal Hazem Hussein from the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Mosul and the membership of Prof. Dr. Khaled Shaker Hussain from Dhi Qar University, Prof. Dr. Shefa Hadi Hussain from Tikrit University, Prof. Dr. Nashwan Mustafa Salih and Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Naheeb Tawfiq from Mosul University And under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Wafaa Muzaffarali.
