An electronic scientific symposium on development in the liberated cities and Mosul as a model within the Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Arts

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali Muhammad Afin, the College of Arts, represented by the Continuing Education Unit, held an (electronic scientific symposium) (for teachers, researchers and students in the College of Arts) entitled ( Development in Liberated Cities: Mosul as a Model) on (Monday) 27 June, 2022 on (Google Meet) Platform.This symposium was lectured by Prof. Dr. Harith Hazem Ayoub from the Department of Sociology and Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khalif Al-Hayani from the Arabic Language Department lectured and it was electronically administered by Lect.Huda Abdullah Abdulateef, Head of the Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Arts. Alao, the symposium was attended by a group of faculty members.Objectives of the symposium:Development is the process of planned change, and it is carried out by man for the sake of man. It is the means and end of development. The workshop tried to identify the types of development and the development process in Iraq in general and the city of Mosul as one of the liberated cities. The symposium aimed to shed light on development projects after the liberation operations as a first goal Then stand on the challenges that faced development in the city of Mosul, as well as giving some recommendations to decision-makers in preparation for finding successful treatments to activate the development path. The symposium also touched on intellectual development and its impact on society, where intellectual development is based on the idea that people die and ideas do not die. The individual is the cornerstone of the family, and the family is the general basis for building states and societies. In order to preserve these states or societies, the family must be protected intellectually and developed cognitively.
