A Thesis on Social Features of the Arab Mashriq (the East) According to Freya Stark’s Writings
A master’s thesis was examined at the Department of History, College of Arts, University of Mosul, entitled (Social Features of the Arab Mashriq (the East) according to Freya Stark’s Writings) on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The examination was conducted at the College of Arts’ Hall and attended by a number of scholars and postgraduate students. The thesis, submitted by Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar Jasim al-Khash-shab, tackled the social sides of some states of the Arabian East through Freya Stark’s writings, a British traveler who visited the majority of the states of the Arabian East. Stark documented her observations on the Middle East in general and the Arabian East in particular in many books. She was able to travel from one place to another by virtue of her job as a British intelligence officer and met people from different cultures, nationalities, and religions.
