A master thesis in the college of Arts/ the department of Information and Knowledge Techniques on (The Requirements of Smart Libraries in the Collegiate Libraries: The Central Library in Mosul University as A Model)
A master thesis entitled (The Requirements of Smart Libraries in the Collegiate Libraries: The Central Library in Mosul University as A Model) was discussed in the college of Arts/ department of Information and Knowledge Technology today, September the third, 2023 at Al-Salam Hall, with the attendance of a number of the department instructors and postgraduate students.
The thesis, presented by Arwa Salim Abd Saeed Al-Najar, addressed the concept of smart library as a reality imposed by technology and the futuristic vision whether for academic institutions or as a societal requirement. The study revealed the requirements and the dimensions of the smart library, such as: the technological dimension, the service dimension, and the community and beneficiaries’ dimension.
The study aimed at investigating the current reality for the central library in Mosul university, along with establishing a philosophical vision for the most important basic requirements for the smart libraries. The researcher adopted a case study mixed with a descriptive method for describing the issue under investigation.
