A PhD dissertation at the College of Arts on: (Social and Cultural Transformations and Their Repercussions on Students’ Attitudes and Tendencies – a Field Study in Secondary Schools Affiliated with the Ministry of Education’s Representation in the City of Erbil).
The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts at Mosul University discussed the PhD dissertation entitled: (Social and Cultural Transformations and Their Repercussions on Students’ Attitudes and Tendencies – a Field Study in Secondary Schools Affiliated with the Ministry of Education’s Representation in the City of Erbil), on Monday, July 8,2024, and a number of college professors and postgraduate students attended. The dissertation, submitted by Ali Kazem Hussein, dealt with the topic of social and cultural transformations that societies or some human groups are going through as a result of some changes and political, economic, and sometimes natural circumstances, which directly and indirectly affect the trends, inclinations, goals and aspirations of these groups or human societies, as it is a human nature to adapt to the variables, circumstances, and cultural transformations that he encounters. In many cases, such transformations determine and change his inclinations and goals. The researcher chose the community of high school students affiliated with the Ministry of Education’s representative office in the city of Erbil, because this segment of students, by age group, are the most affected ones by the transformations that have occurred in Iraqi society, especially after the events of 2014, and the suffering of displacement and the war to liberate Iraqi cities from extremist organizations.
