The lecturer from the Department of Sociology, Nisma Mahmoud Salem, participated in the interactive workshop held by the College of Computer Science and Mathematics in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Department of Sociology on Thursday, February 6, 2025, titled (Globalization and Its Impact on Women’s Leadership of the Family). The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and students of the college. Dr. Nisma Mahmoud Salem began her interactive discussion with a question that concerns the Iraqi society and its intellectuals, which is: (How do we preserve our cultural identity?) in light of the dominance of globalization and its effective tools, which have led to significant changes in the roles of women, especially as the mother and primary educator in her family, and how through this role, she contributes to preserving cultural identity. Additionally, she discussed the performance of her other roles, such as her role as a citizen, amid the challenges caused by globalization.
