Higher Diploma Thesis on the Role of the Nineveh Governorate Office in Promoting Social Peace

The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts held a defense for a Higher Diploma thesis in Social Peace titled “The Role of the Nineveh Governorate Office in Promoting Social Peace – The Citizens’ Complaints Department as a Case Study,” on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

The session was attended in part by Professor Dr. Hatim Fahd Al-Taie, Dean of the College, along with several faculty members.

The thesis, submitted by student Dilshad Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zebari from the Department of Sociology, addressed the sociology of complaints, social peace, and the structure and role of the Citizens’ Complaints Department in promoting social cohesion. The study explained how the Nineveh Governorate Office—particularly the Citizens’ Complaints Department—plays a vital role in communicating with citizens and resolving the issues they face in their daily lives.
