Ph.D. Dissertation on “The Regional and International Stance on Political Developments in Libya (2011–2015): A Historical Study”

The Department of History at the College of Arts discussed a Ph.D. dissertation titled “The Regional and International Stance on Political Developments in Libya (2011–2015): A Historical Study” on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The session was attended in part by Professor Dr. Hatim Fahd Hano, Dean of the College, Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Saeed, Head of the Department, as well as several faculty members.
The dissertation, presented by student Salem Mahmoud Mohammed from the Department of History, focused on analyzing the regional and international positions regarding political developments in Libya during the period 2011–2015, and how different actors responded to the unfolding events.
The study aims to clarify how regional neighbors and the international community positioned themselves with regard to the Libyan conflict, including the nature of the support provided to the various conflicting parties.
