A faculty member from the Department of Arabic Language, Professor Dr. Ahmed Jarallah Yassin, participated in a special meeting of the committee for the “Narratives of Peace” short story competition organized by the UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul. The competition was previously announced last April, and following the closure of submissions and the receipt of participating texts, an agreement was reached on appropriate and transparent judging mechanisms. The initial work of the committee has commenced, and it will be responsible for announcing the longlist of participants selected in the preliminary screening at the beginning of June. This process will lead to the final results, which are scheduled to be announced in late June during a closing ceremony at the University of Mosul.
