Dean of College of Arts Inaugurates Calligraphy Exhibition

On May 21, 2025, the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahad Al-Tai, inaugurated an art exhibition titled “Breezes of Mosul’s Spring Embrace the Arabic Calligraphy.” The exhibition, held in the French-Iraqi Cultural Institute at the University of Mosul’s Minor campus, showcased the works of calligrapher, engineer, and PhD student from the College of Arts, Department of History, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Hamdani.
The exhibition featured a distinguished display of Arabic calligraphy panels and excerpts in various known styles, alongside several books, articles, and contributions published in scholarly journals—all works and publications by Al-Hamdani. The calligrapher is renowned for his exceptional skill and remarkable creativity in adorning and executing traditional calligraphy styles at both local and regional levels.
The opening ceremony was attended by numerous academics, artists, media professionals, as well as a group of calligraphers and enthusiasts of Arabic calligraphy.
