Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Arts: “Economic Crises and Their Role in the Growth of Crime Rates”
On Monday, May 28, 2025, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts hosted a master’s thesis defense titled “Economic Crises and Their Role in the Growth of Crime Rates: A Field Study in Kirkuk City.” The defense was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Firas Abbas Fadhel, Head of the Department, and several faculty members.
The study, presented by student Mohammed Karim Salim from the Department of Sociology, aimed to identify and clarify the causes and nature of economic crises and their impact on the escalation of crime rates.
The examining committee comprised:
