Faculty Member Joins Master’s Thesis Defense at Tikrit University
On Monday, June 16, 2025, Dr. Ashraf Riyad Abdullah, a faculty member in the English Language Department at the College of Arts, participated as a committee member in the defense of a master’s thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences – English Language Department, Tikrit University.
The thesis, titled “A Pragmatic Study of Irony in the American Series (Parks and Recreation),” was presented by student Saad Jassim Mohammed. The study explored the pragmatic approaches utilized in constructing irony within the dramatic dialogues of the series, along with its linguistic and cultural implications.
This participation highlights the scientific collaboration between Iraqi universities and aims to enhance academic communication and the exchange of expertise among faculty members across universities.
