A Master’s Thesis on the Banu al-Nabit ibn Malik ibn al-Aws and Their Role During the Prophetic Era

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Department of History at the College of Arts convened for the defense of a master’s thesis examining “The Banu al-Nabit ibn Malik ibn al-Aws and Their Role During the Prophetic Era.” The session was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College, Dr. Mahmoud Salih Saeed, Head of the Department, and various esteemed faculty members.

The thesis, submitted by Mohammed Natiq Ismail Hammadi Al-Tayar, a student in the History Department, delved into the multifaceted role played by the Banu al-Nabit, a branch of the Aws tribe, during the nascent period of Islam. The research meticulously explored their lineage, their marital alliances with other tribes, and their intricate political relations with the Khazraj tribe and other Arab clans.

The study aimed to illuminate all aspects pertaining to the individuals of this tribe and to analyze their diverse contributions throughout the Prophetic Era.
