Higher Diploma Thesis on Developing Children’s Social Skills and Their Role in Fostering Community Peace

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts held a defense for a Higher Diploma thesis, equivalent to a Master’s degree, focusing on “Developing Children’s Social Skills and Their Role in Fostering Community Peace.” The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Firas Abbas Fadil, and several faculty members.

The study, presented by Khalid Ali Fathi from the Sociology Department, addressed the crucial importance of social skills in kindergartens, schools, and families for instilling these skills from early childhood.

The primary objective of this research is to identify the significance of social skills development in early childhood settings (kindergarten, school, and family) to ensure their early cultivation.
