Department of History Holds Panel Discussion on “Iraqi Wounded Day”

Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Taie, the Department of History held a panel discussion on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, titled “Iraqi Wounded Day.” The event took place in Hall (5) at the College of Arts, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit.

The session was chaired by the Head of the History Department, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Saeed, and featured the following participants:

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Faisal Mahmoud
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Salem Daye
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Youssef Hazem
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Walid Abd

The discussion covered several key topics regarding the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people, especially the heroes of the security forces who have shown the greatest examples of devotion in defense of the homeland.

It is worth noting that “Iraqi Wounded Day” is a national occasion commemorated annually based on directives from the Council of Ministers, in honor of the sacrifices of the wounded and in appreciation of their heroic role in the defense of Iraq.
