College of Arts Students Participate in Iraqi Youth Model United Nations Conference, Win Distinguished Award
A group of students from the Departments of Translation and English Language at the College of Arts, University of Mosul, participated in the Iraqi Youth Model United Nations Conference. The conference took place from June 21 to 29, 2025, in collaboration with Al-Noor University.
The participating students received intensive training on the mechanisms of UN conferences, aiming to qualify them to simulate the roles of commissioners and representatives of countries and international organizations. They were also tasked with discussing global issues through practices that included research, drafting resolutions, persuasion, and dialogue, ultimately leading to the adoption of resolutions representing countries’ positions on these issues.
The students actively participated in the conference sessions, serving as official speakers and representatives of UNESCO chairs for various countries. They collaborated with peers from diverse universities and backgrounds to discuss assigned agendas and reach innovative solutions.
Among the outstanding participations, Mustafa Mahmoud Shukr, a student from the Department of Translation, received the Best Position Paper Award among over seventy submitted papers. This achievement is a source of great pride for both the college and the University of Mosul.
