Master’s Thesis on “A Discourse Analysis of Narrativity in Iraqi Arabic Political Interviews”
The English Department at the College of Arts discussed a master’s thesis titled “A Discourse Analysis of Narrativity in Iraqi Arabic Political Interviews” on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, the Head of the Department, Dr. Salih Abdullah Abdul-Rahman, and several faculty members attended a part of the discussion.
The study, submitted by the student Hussam Abdul-Jabbar Muhammad Jafal, focused on the analysis of narrative discourse in Iraqi political interviews, examining its structure and linguistic function.
This thesis aims to uncover the linguistic techniques used in television interviews and interpret the functions of the language employed.
