Master’s Thesis on “The Geographical Knowledge of the Companions and Its Impact During the Prophetic Era”

The Department of History at the College of Arts held a master’s thesis defense on “The Geographical Knowledge of the Companions and Its Impact During the Prophetic Era” on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The session was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, Dean of the College; Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Saeed, Head of the Department; and a number of faculty members.

The study, submitted by student Abd al-Ghafoor Salama Ahmed from the Department of History, examined the geographical knowledge of the Companions and its influence during the Prophetic Era. The thesis aimed to demonstrate the impact of the geographical knowledge possessed by the Companions on the administrative, military, and economic aspects during the early Islamic period.
