Master’s Thesis on “Autism and its Cultural Representation”

The Department of English at the College of Arts, University of Mosul, defended a master’s thesis titled “Autism and its cultural representation: an intersectional study of Elana K. Arnold’s, A Boy Called BAT, Helen Hoang’s The Bride Test and Tiffany Hammond’s A Day with No Words” on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The defense was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Ta’i, the Dean of the College; Dr. Salih Abdullah Abdulrahman, the Head of the Department; and several faculty members.
The study, presented by student Sarah Khalid Sultan Salih, addressed autism and its effects through selected novels from American, Asian American, and African American literature.
The thesis aims to shed light on autism as a contemporary condition and highlight its effects on different cultures.
