Master’s Thesis on “Intertextuality in the Poetry of Shihab al-Din al-Azazi (d. 710 AH)”

The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts defended a master’s thesis on “Intertextuality in the Poetry of Shihab al-Din al-Azazi (d. 710 AH)” on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The defense was attended by Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Ta’i, Dean of the College, the Head of the Department, Dr. Ahmed Saleh Younis, and a number of the college’s faculty members.

The study, presented by student Abdullah Ahmed Elias Hamad Al-Hamdani, explored the mechanisms of intertextuality and its manifestations in relation to Islamic religion, literary heritage, and historical figures.

The thesis aims to uncover the features of artistic beauty in the poet’s work and to examine the aesthetic values it contains, which formed a solid extension of a heritage rich in its contributions and historical events.
