Master’s Thesis Defense: The Role of Hadith Transmitters in the Islamic East

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the Department of History at the College of Arts held a master’s thesis defense for a dissertation titled “The Geographical Distribution of Hadith Transmitters in the Islamic East and Their Role in Disseminating Hadith from the Third to the End of the Seventh Century AH.”
The defense was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, the Head of the Department, Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Saeed, and several faculty members.
The research, presented by student Farah Raad Hassoun, explored the geographical dispersal of musnid scholars (narrators of Hadith) across the Islamic East. It also examined their pivotal role in the transmission and dissemination of the Prophet’s traditions from the third to the seventh centuries of the Hijri calendar. The thesis’s primary objective was to shed light on the identities and contributions of these scholars in spreading the Noble Prophetic Hadith.
