Professor Dr. Jassim Mohammed Khudhair Al-Jubouri, Head of the Media Department, recently participated in the meeting of the Committee of Deans and Heads of Media Departments across Iraqi universities, hosted at the University of Kirkuk, where the agenda centered on the comprehensive development of media education. Key discussions focused on updating curricula, unifying the study system across affiliated colleges, and advancing the field by proposing a name change to Digital Journalism for the relevant specialization. Furthermore, the committee agreed to generalize core subjects such as Mobile Journalism, Media Language, and Digital Media, while also addressing logistical improvements like raising the acceptance rate for vocational study graduates and expanding evening study admissions. Crucially, the meeting emphasized aligning media programs with contemporary demands through the integration of new ministerial subjects, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other modern digital technologies in media.
