A Master’s Thesis Discussion: Place in the Poetry of Ibn al-Haddad al-Andalusi (d. 480 AH)
The College of Arts’ Department of Arabic Language held a Master’s thesis discussion on Thursday, October 16, 2025, for the study titled “Place in the Poetry of Ibn al-Haddad al-Andalusi (d. 480 AH),” which was submitted by the student Maha Yousef Khalaf Fayyad; the research specifically analyzed the poet’s depiction and use of various locations, including open and closed, as well as terrestrial and celestial spaces, with the core objective of demonstrating how the beauty of Andalusian nature could be effectively employed and celebrated in poetry. A portion of the session was attended by the Dean, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Taie.
