Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Library Service Enhancement
The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies Organized a Training Course on Employing AI in Library Service Development
The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies (IKT) recently organized a specialized, three-day training course titled “Employing Artificial Intelligence Techniques in Developing Library Collections and Services.” The course ran from November 2nd to 4th, 2025.
The primary objective of the course was to equip participants with the contemporary skills and knowledge required to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies for advancing library operations. This focus encompassed both the realm of collection development and the enhancement of the quality of information services offered to patrons.
The lectures within the course were delivered by the following faculty members:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Hiba Saadullah Younis, who presented a lecture titled, “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Supporting Collection Development Processes in Libraries.”
- Assistant Lecturer Majd Muyassar, who delivered a lecture on “Employing Artificial Intelligence Technology in Library Collection Development.”
- Lecturer Shaymaa Hashim Yousif, who presented on the topic, “Employing Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Provision of Information Services in Libraries.”
