Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies Hosts Student Enrichment Activities

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts organized a dual-track scientific and cultural program for its students. These activities were designed to foster both intellectual growth and health awareness, contributing to the development of a well-rounded academic personality.

Activity 1: The “Reader’s Chair” (Cultural)

This initiative aimed to instill a culture of reading and enhance cognitive awareness among students. The event provided:

  • An interactive platform for students to share their personal reading journeys.

  • A space to discuss their “reading identities” and the early experiences that shaped their relationship with books.

Activity 2: Health Awareness Workshop (Scientific)

Titled “The Risks of Alcohol, Smoking, and E-Cigarettes for University Students,” this workshop focused on safeguarding student health. Key discussions included:

  • The physiological and psychological impacts of substance use.

  • Strategies for maintaining a healthy lifestyle within the campus environment.

Supervision and Vision

The sessions were moderated by Dr. Omar Tawfiq Abdulqader and Mr. Sarmad Siddiq Ghazi. These activities reflect the department’s ongoing commitment to building a student body that is both intellectually informed and physically health-conscious.
