Voluntary Work by the Ottoman Studies Unit and the Moorish Academy Unit at the College of Arts

As part of the voluntary activities organized by the College of Arts at the University of Mosul to strengthen ties with state institutions and society, the Ottoman Documents and Heritage Preservation Studies Unit, in collaboration with the Spanish Comparative Moorish Academy Unit, and with the support of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ali Mohammed Afeen, conducted a voluntary visit. The visit was made by faculty members from both units to the Department of Care for People with Disabilities in Nineveh Governorate / Elderly Care Home in the city of Mosul, to offer moral support and provide some material assistance. This initiative reflects the belief of the University of Mosul and the College of Arts in the importance of maintaining social communication with elderly groups and supporting them. The faculty members were received by the department head, Mrs. Wisan Muqdad Al-Omari, and the center’s staff. The meeting witnessed a positive interaction following the visitors’ meeting with the elderly residents of the home.
