An Overview of the Philosophy Department:
The Department of Philosophy was established in the academic year 1994-1995 to provide the community with specialists who play an active role in diagnosing the nature of knowledge and sciences and the emergence of human thought in various civilizations, while clarifying its extensions and connections with human societies. To achieve this purpose, the curricula included philosophy in all its subjects and topics that express trends in human development and enlightenment, as well as clarifying the relationship between philosophy and pure sciences and humanities. Since its establishment, the department has contributed to enriching the educational institution, the labor sector, social affairs, and the Ministry of Culture with specialized personnel that enable it to perform its scientific and academic role and achieve the goals of sustainable development. The department grants a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
Admission to the Department of Philosophy is open to graduates of the preparatory school with its literary and scientific branches and graduates of the Department of Applied Arts for high school, as well as graduates of the Islamic Studies Preparatory School. The department currently has seventeen teachers from various basic and supporting disciplines who hold scientific titles, and twenty-four courses of morning study students have graduated from the department as of the 2023/2024 academic year.
