  • Dr . Mahmoud Saleh Ismail

Professor Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Ismail obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language/College of Arts/University of Mosul on 6/20/1975 and obtained a Higher Diploma in Libraries and Information from University from Leeds/England on 12/6/1981 and then a Master’s degree in Libraries and Information from  University of Leeds/England on 1/6/1983 and Ph.D/  in Information and Libraries/College of Arts/Mustansiriya University on4/10/1996. Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Ismail is considered one of the

founders of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies in the University of Mosul:

  • Prof. Mahmoud Girgis Muhammad

 

Assistant Professor Mahmoud Girgis Muhammad obtained a bachelor’s degree in English language in 1974 from the University of Mosul and a master’s degree in libraries and information management from the University of Denver – the United States in .  He is considered one of the founders of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies / University of Mosul. The positions he held are

 

  • Librarian of the College of Engineering
  • Assistant Secretary General of the Central Library / University of Mosul.
  • Secretary General of the Central Library / University of Mosul.
  • Rapporteur of the Department of Libraries and Information.

 

  • Prof. Dr. Muayad Qasim Al-Khafaf

 

The assistant professor obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Baghdad/College of Arts /Department of Mass Communication/1969, a diploma in information documentation/ Hungary in 1974, and a master’s degree from Cairo University/College of Mass Communications/1979. As for his doctorate, he obtained it from the University of Baghdad/College of Arts /Department Media/1998, as for the positions he held:

 

  • Director of Media Research and Studies/1982
  • Editorial secretary of a scientific journal (Science)/1985
  • Editorial secretary of Al-I’lam newspaper, which is published by the Department of Media at the College of Arts /University of Baghdad
  • Rapporteur of the Media Department for years and participant in the department’s committees and activities
  • Former rapporteur of the Scientific Committee in the Department of Mass Communication and currently the Faculty of Mass Communication for several years.
  • Information expert at the Media Documentation Center for the Arab Gulf States in 1981.
  • Information expert in Iraqi newspapers in 1975. He worked in charge of the archives department at the Iraqi News Agency and Al-Jumhuriya newspaper.
  • Head of the Journalism Department at the College of Information University of Baghdad from 2002 to 2004.

  • Prof. Mr. Saad Ahmed Ismail

Assistant Professor Saad Ahmed Ismail obtained a bachelor’s degree in English language from the University of Mosul (1973/1974) and the Master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Denver, the United States of America in 1980. . He is also considered one of the founders of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies / University of Mosul. He performed the following tasks:

  • Lecturer in the Libraries Department at the Technical Institute in Mosul 1988-1998.
  • Lecturer in the Department of Information and Libraries/College of Arts /University of Mosul 1995.
  • Member of the Iraqi Society for Libraries and Information.
  • Member of the Scientific  Committee in the department.
  • Member of the Graduate Studies Committee.
  • Member of the editorial board of Al -Rafidain Literature Magazine.

 

  • Dr . Ammar Abdel Latif Zein El Abidine

Professor Dr. Ammar Abdul Latif Zain Al-Abidin obtained a technical diploma from the Administrative Technical Institute / Mosul in 1991, a bachelor’s degree in libraries and information from Al-Mustansiriya University / Baghdad in 1996, a master’s degree in information and libraries from Al-Mustansiriya University / Baghdad in 2002, and a doctorate in information and libraries. From Al-Mustansiriya University / Baghdad in 2005
