Units of the Department-Department of Information and knowledge Technologies

The department comprises a set of administrative units that support the internal administrative functions, namely:

Free Education Unit
The Free Education Unit is responsible for providing textbooks that support the academic curricula. The College Administration has ensured the provision of sufficient copies of these books to meet the students’ needs.

Laboratories
The department includes scientific laboratories that support both the educational process and scientific research. These laboratories facilitate the practical component of the courses taught throughout the four academic years of study. Most of the courses offered in the department include a practical application component. In particular, certain courses in the third and fourth years are dedicated to hands-on training. Additionally, the College of Arts Library is utilized for practical sessions. Both the Central Library and the College Library function as extensive laboratories for students in the department.

The available laboratories in the department include:

– Information Technology Laboratory
This lab contains a collection of laptops used by students during practical sessions related to the academic curriculum across all study levels in the department.

– Technical Procedures Laboratory (Departmental Library)
Due to space limitations, the Technical Procedures Laboratory has been merged with the departmental library. Establishing a library within the department is considered essential for the practical application of coursework. Moreover, the library provides students with various information resources necessary for completing their assignments and conducting scientific research, including both undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
The library holds over 279 Arabic books and journals, 304 English books and journals, as well as theses from the department’s graduates and multiple copies of fourth-year graduation projects from previous years. It offers both internal and external lending services for its collection.
