Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the History Department

Vision:
The Department of History seeks to build an open, national Iraqi character that rejects fanaticism, extremism, and intellectual isolation. This is achieved by embracing historical knowledge and combining it with modern technology and artificial intelligence as a means to achieve its goals, enhancing the status of women, sustaining interaction with society and its institutions, and achieving sustainable development.

Mission:
The mission of the Department of History is to develop sound scientific methods for studying human history, based on considering the role of the student as the center of the educational process. This is achieved by encouraging sound scientific research using artificial intelligence and modern technological tools, enhancing the status of women in the study of history, and encouraging sound scientific publishing that promotes the values ​​of sustainable development.

Objectives:
• The Department of History aims to utilize history to paint a bright picture of the future and build an aware generation that is immune to intellectual risks through criticism and analysis.
• Develop skills of free and critical thinking based on analyzing and studying historical facts with an open mind, using modern technology and artificial intelligence.
• Develop the ability to read and critique ancient historical texts to crystallize the character of the academic researcher in the sciences of history.
• Explore human experiences and life experiences and the potential to benefit from them in our contemporary world.
• Encourage students to engage with others with an open mind, believing in opinions based on their authentic intellectual references.
• Guide students to achieve sustainable development during their academic work.
• Provide students with historical research skills that enable them to conduct research and delve into historical issues and problems, relying on tools in their research work, utilizing modern technology such as artificial intelligence.
• Qualify specialized research cadres in collecting, organizing, classifying, and categorizing information, facts, and events for easy study.
• Provide scientific, educational, research, and academic institutions inside and outside Iraq with diverse historical specializations.
• Prepare to participate in providing research consultations in various fields of history to contribute to the development of societal visions and the advancement of historical culture.
