Vision, Message and Objectives-Dept. of History

Vision:
The teaching methods and the textbooks of the Department of History are means for building an open-minded Iraqi personality that does not believe in fanaticism or narrow-mindedness. On the contrary, building an Iraqi personality that believes in dialogue and openness towards others, human rights, and the right to live peacefully, plus enhancing his sense of belonging to the earth.
Message:
The message of the Department is represented by finding sober ways to study humanitarian history by focusing on conceiving its civil, humanitarian, and ethical values. It also places emphasis on the student’s role in teaching because the teaching process revolves around him. It tries to graduate skilled teachers who believe in the core values of the teaching system in Iraq.
Objectives:
  • Capitalize on history in developing the skills of freethinking, which are based on studying and analyzing historical events.
  • Developing the ability to criticize ideas and narratives to build the student’s independent personality.
  • Making acquaintance with human beings’ experiments over the ages.
  • Making the student able to know himself objectively and to be open to others.
  • Providing the student with the ability to understand the task of man on earth, and the purposes of his existence to construct the earth and worship Allah.
  • Equipping the student with skills and strategies of historical research to be able to master what he has specialized in.
