Oral viva of master thesis at the Department of Conservative Dentistry/ College of Dentistry

College of Dentistry discussed M.Sc. Thesis entitled “Efficiency of Er Cr: YSGG laser in Debonding of Ceramic Veneers and its Effect on Intrapulpal Temperature (An in Vitro Study)” on 12 May 2022 forwarded by Sara Ihsan Saleh. The study evaluated efficiency of Er Cr: YSGG laser in Debonding of ceramic veneers made of different compositions, with different thickness, using different laser irradiation durations and its effect on intrapulpal temperature. It was proved by the study that Er Cr: YSGG laser could be a promising method in debonding of veneers made of lithium disilicate and leucite reinforced ceramic. It was found that the required force for debonding was increased when the material thickness was increased, while the debonding force was decreased when the laser irradiation duration was increased, laser assisted ceramic veneers debonding could be considered a safe method regarding intrapulpal temperature.
The examination Committee was chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahar Jaafar Selivany / College of Dentistry/ University of Dohuk and with the membership of Assist. Prof. Dr. Imad Farhan Ali /College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul and Lect. Dr. Ali Moaed Rasheed/ College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul and with supervision and membership of Lect.
