College of Dentistry discussed Ph.D. dissertation entitled “Preparation and Evaluation of a New Seashell Based Endodontic Sealer” on 19 May 2022 forwarded by Ragad Adnan Rashid. The study aimed to prepare firstly: calcium oxide nano powder from natural seashell and secondly: to prepare endodontic nanosealer composed of two parts: The powder part that made up of the prepared nano calcium oxide, glutamic amino acid, nano zirconium oxide and nano silica oxide, while the liquid part consisted of distilled water and propylene glycol. The hydration setting reaction of the prepared nanosealer was confirmed by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) then the physical, chemical, biological and clinical properties were evaluated and compared with those of BioRoot endodontic sealer. It was proved by the study that the experimental endodontic nanosealer had the physical, chemical, biological and clinical properties to be utilized as root canal sealer.

Prof. Dr. Moataz Ghazi Saadalla/ Department of Dentistry/ Al- Noor University College and with supervision and membership of Sawsan Hamid Ahmed / College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul.
The dissertation was accepted after making the recommended corrections.
