College of Dentistry discussed M.Sc. thesis entitled ‘‘The Influence of Nano Chitosan as Final Irrigation on Smear Layer Removal and Bond Strength of Different Endodontic Sealers”, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. forwarded by Fatima Shamel Mohammed. The study investigated the efficacy of nano-chitosan irrigation solution in removing the smear layer from root canal walls using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), as well as its effect on the bond strength of different endodontic sealers by using a universal testing machine. The study concluded that Nano Chitosan irrigation solution was highly efficient in smear layer removal with improvement in bond strength of AH plus and MTA Fillapex sealers when it was used as final irrigation solution.
