College of Dentistry Enhances Green Spaces to Support Sustainable Development

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide a healthy and aesthetically pleasing university environment for its students and staff, the College of Dentistry continues to maintain and develop the green spaces within its gardens. These efforts aim to expand the greenery across the college campus through garden maintenance, planting trees along walkways, and creating shaded, comfortable areas around the college buildings. Such initiatives contribute to improving air quality, reducing pollution, and enhancing the psychological well-being of students, employees, and visitors alike.
These initiatives fall within the college’s active commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 13 (Climate Action), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 15 (Life on Land), which focus on protecting terrestrial ecosystems, combating desertification, halting land degradation, and preserving biodiversity.
Under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Neaam Riyadh Salim, Dean of the College, the institution continues to cultivate a green academic environment that embodies the concept of a smart and sustainable campus—aligned with the vision of the University of Mosul to strike a balance between scientific advancement and environmental preservation.
