“Maxillary Sinus Lift Procedures: An Overview of Current Techniques, Presurgical Evaluation, and Complications.”

 

As part of the activities of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, a panel discussion was held on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, entitled:
“Maxillary Sinus Lift Procedures: An Overview of Current Techniques, Presurgical Evaluation, and Complications.”

The session was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Alyaa Ismail Nasser, with the attendance of several faculty members of the department.

The discussion covered a comprehensive review of the latest techniques and scientific research related to various maxillary sinus lift procedures (lateral window and crestal approaches), highlighting key anatomical considerations, clinical indications, and the materials used in bone grafting. It also addressed the most recent updates in the management of alveolar bone resorption prior to implant placement.

The session included extensive scientific discussions and detailed responses to the inquiries raised by the attending faculty members, contributing to the enhancement of scientific knowledge and the advancement of clinical practice in oral and implant surgery.

This activity reflects the department’s commitment to keeping pace with scientific advancements and to developing the academic and clinical competencies of its staff, particularly in the field of advanced dental implant techniques.
