As part of the University of Mosul’s activities marking the International Human Rights Day and the International Volunteer Day, and with the aim of promoting human rights and supporting various community groups, a team of faculty members from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Preventive Dentistry conducted a field visit to the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in Nineveh.

The visit included assessing the health conditions of the residents and performing preliminary examinations, in addition to delivering simplified awareness sessions on the fundamentals of oral and dental health care. These efforts aimed to enhance their health awareness and enable them to adopt preventive behaviors that contribute to maintaining their overall well-being.

The team also met with the Center’s administration to learn about the key health and social challenges faced by the residents, reaffirming the commitment of the University of Mosul and the College of Dentistry to supporting this group and providing services and initiatives that reflect the University’s role in serving the community.

The College of Dentistry extends its sincere appreciation to the administration of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center for their warm reception and fruitful cooperation, which played a significant role in the success of this humanitarian initiative. The College also commends the efforts of the Center’s staff in facilitating the examinations and providing the necessary information.
