Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry: From Diagnosis to Treatment

Workshop Titled “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry: From Diagnosis to Treatment” at the College of Dentistry – University of Mosul

The Department of Basic Dental Sciences at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry: From Diagnosis to Treatment”, held from 1 to 3 December 2025, with the participation of several faculty members and specialists. The workshop comes as part of the college’s ongoing scientific and training activities aimed at keeping pace with recent advancements in artificial intelligence.

The workshop sessions were delivered by:

Assist. Lect. Marwan Ahmed

Assist. Lect. Ahmed Khalid

The program included a comprehensive introduction to artificial intelligence and its applications in dentistry, an explanation of the mechanisms for developing an AI model, and an overview of the future of artificial intelligence and its ethical dimensions in the medical field.

The workshop was chaired by Prof. Ghada Abdulrahman Taqa, Head of the Department of Basic Sciences, with notable attendance from faculty members who commended the importance of the topic and its role in advancing scientific and research development within the college.

This workshop reflects the ongoing commitment of the College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul to strengthening academic training and keeping pace with global digital transformations, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the educational process and the improvement of its outcomes.

The workshop is directly aligned with two key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

1. Goal 4: Quality Education

As part of the college’s ongoing “scientific and training activities,” the workshop aims to “enhance academic training,” offering opportunities for lifelong learning.

By addressing “recent advancements in artificial intelligence” and “global digital transformations,” the workshop ensures that the educational content remains relevant and high-quality.

2. Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

By focusing on an advanced topic such as “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry: From Diagnosis to Treatment” and including “an explanation of the mechanisms for developing an AI model,” the workshop promotes research and development (R&D) as well as technological innovation within the academic institution.
