Lecture Entitled: “Ethics of the Dental Profession and the Patient’s Right to a Safe Therapeutic Environment”

Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, Dean of the College of Dentistry, and within the framework of promoting awareness of human rights culture, the Human Rights Unit and the Sustainable Development Committee at the College—within the activities of Continuing Education—in cooperation with the Human Rights Division and the Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, organized a lecture entitled: “Ethics of the Dental Profession and the Patient’s Right to a Safe Therapeutic Environment.”
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Manar Mudafar Al-Nema, in the presence of a representative from the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul. The lecture addressed the fundamental ethical principles that physicians must adhere to, as well as the ways to ensure patients’ rights to receive safe and reassuring healthcare.
This workshop aims to instill awareness of the importance of medical ethics and to provide a therapeutic environment founded on mutual respect and trust between the physician and the patient, serving as a starting point for productive discussions and the exchange of experiences.
This initiative comes within the efforts of the University of Mosul, represented by the College of Dentistry, to support the principles of human rights and enhance the role of academic institutions in raising community awareness, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to build a healthier future for coming generations.
