Workshop on the Management of Suffocation Cases During Fires

Within the framework of Continuing Education activities for the academic year 2025–2026, the Scientific Affairs Unit and the Studies and Planning Division at the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Affairs, the Department of Studies and Planning, and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, organized a workshop entitled “Management of Suffocation Cases During Fires” on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
The workshop was delivered by Second Lieutenant Omar Khalid Sharef, Legal Second Lieutenant Amir Abdul Sabbak, and Sergeant Omar Diaa Younis, who addressed the most important steps and procedures that must be followed in fire management and the evacuation of injured persons. This contributes to enhancing the capacity of academic staff and students to deal with emergency situations in a scientific and systematic manner.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs and a number of college staff members, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance knowledge and practical skills related to fire management and safe response mechanisms.
This workshop falls within the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, and 17, in support of public safety and the development of the academic community’s capacities to face crises and disasters.
