Distinguished Participation of the College of Dentistry Students in the University of Mosul Chess Championship

Within the framework of the Student Activities Department at the University of Mosul, the College of Dentistry recorded a distinguished presence in the University Chess Championship hosted by the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, with broad participation from various colleges across the university.
The college was represented in this championship by a select group of its outstanding students:
Mustafa Suhaib (Fourth Year)
Hassan Jaafar (Fourth Year)
Rajab Ameen (Third Year)
The competitions witnessed a strong performance by our students, who successfully advanced through the first round with a well-deserved victory, while facing intense competition in the second round against the team of the College of Medicine. The championship was characterized by high-level organization and excellent hospitality from the hosting college, which contributed to presenting the event in a manner befitting the stature of the University of Mosul.
This participation aligns with the college’s commitment to enhancing students’ cognitive and analytical skills beyond the classroom. Chess is regarded as an ideal platform for developing strategic thinking, quick wit, and decision-making abilities—skills that closely intersect with the nature of their specialized studies in dentistry.
On her part, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the participating students, affirming the college’s continuous support for student activities that contribute to shaping students’ personalities, and encouraging all students to actively engage in various university events.
On this occasion, the Deanship of the College extends its warmest congratulations to the participating students, wishing them continued success and excellence in all fields.
