University of Mosul College of Dentistry Student Secures Second Place in the Tokuyama Summer School

 

Fifth-year student Obaida Omar Sabah Mahmoud from the College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul secured second place in the Tokuyama Summer School – 2nd Edition, held in Erbil on 27–28 August 2026 at Youth Hub, with the participation of top-performing and distinguished students from more than 30 Iraqi universities.

The student was selected to represent the University of Mosul by the Head of the Conservative Dentistry Branch and the College Dean’s Office, based on his outstanding performance in the practical component of Operative Dentistry.

The programme comprised two days of theoretical lectures, practical applications, and assessments. The first day focused on Posterior Composite, under the supervision of Dr Ali Al-Masoudi, during which the student achieved the highest score among the participants. The second day focused on Anterior Composite, under the supervision of Dr Mohammed Bahaa Al-Din, in which he also achieved a score among the highest scores recorded.

Following the compilation of the scores and the announcement of the final results, the student was awarded second place and honored in recognition of his outstanding performance.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr Neam Riyadh Saleem, Dean of the College of Dentistry, honored student Obaida Omar Sabah Mahmoud in recognition of this achievement, wishing him continued success and excellence.
