The College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Nineveh Health Directorate / Left-Side Primary Health Care Sector – University Health Center, held an awareness workshop on thalassemia prevention on Tuesday, 15 September 2026. The workshop was organized as part of efforts to enhance health and preventive awareness among students and the university community.

Held in the Discussion Hall, the workshop addressed several awareness topics related to thalassemia, highlighting the importance of prevention and early detection, as well as providing information on factors associated with the disease and ways to reduce its spread.

The workshop was delivered by Specialist Physician Eman Azhir Younis, Director of the University Health Center, and Senior Head Nurse Mohammed Ahmed Yassen, with the participation of a number of the College’s staff members.

The workshop is part of the College of Dentistry’s efforts to promote health and preventive awareness and support awareness-raising programmes that contribute to enhancing the level of health awareness among the College’s staff and students.
