College of Dentistry discussed M.Sc. thesis entitled ‘‘The Effect of Ferulic Acid on Alveolar Ridge Preservation in Rabbits”, on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Forwarded by Muhanad Emad Naseef. The study investigated the effect of ferulic acid at two different concentrations on bone healing in alveolar ridge preservation following tooth extraction in rabbits, through radiographic, histological, and immunohistochemical evaluations. It was concluded by the study that the topical application of ferulic acid, particularly at a concentration of 4%, led to a marked improvement in bone regeneration and enhanced osteoblastic activity compared with the control groups, which demonstrated the potential of utilizing ferulic acid as a promising adjunct in post-extraction bone grafting procedures.
