A Workshop at the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-Up Unit Entitled: “Fundamentals of Voluntary Work”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahemi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, Dean of the College of Dentistry, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-Up Unit at the College organized a workshop on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, entitled:
“Fundamentals of Voluntary Work.”
The workshop was held as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Education and Training.
The session featured Assistant Lecturer Hussein Akla Al-Khafaji, the guest speaker, and Lecturer Rayan Mohammed Al-Mallah, Head of the Unit at the College, who discussed the concept and importance of voluntary work in society and its role in shaping the university student’s personality, highlighting their practical experiences in the field of volunteer teams.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, several faculty members and staff, as well as members of volunteer teams.
This workshop comes within the College’s ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of volunteerism and developing a responsible, community-oriented student personality, in alignment with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Goal 1: No Poverty – by promoting social responsibility and community initiatives.
Goal 2: Zero Hunger – through supporting charitable volunteer initiatives.
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being – by encouraging volunteer work in health and service sectors.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – by strengthening civic engagement and active community participation.
