College of Dentistry

In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Computer Center, in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Affairs at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a training workshop at the College of Dentistry on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, entitled:
“Activating Researcher Accounts on the Web of Science and Scopus Platforms.”
The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Fajir Fahr Fadel.

The lecture aimed to introduce researchers to the importance of the Web of Science and Scopus platforms in documenting scientific output and enhancing researchers’ academic visibility. It also clarified the steps required to create and activate research accounts and link them to international researcher identifiers (ORCID and Researcher ID) to ensure unified academic identity.

The lecture further addressed mechanisms for updating research data, adding published papers to researcher profiles, and using the available analytical tools on both platforms to assess individual and institutional research performance. Additionally, it highlighted the role of these platforms in improving the university’s global ranking.

At the end of the lecture, the floor was opened for discussion to address participants’ inquiries regarding the technical aspects of account activation and optimal use of these platforms to support their research careers.
