Human Rights Unit Holds Two Awareness Lectures on Mass Graves and Genocide

The Human Rights Unit at the College of Dentistry, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, organized two awareness lectures on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, aimed at promoting legal and humanitarian awareness.
The event was inaugurated by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Neam Riyadh Saleem, who delivered an opening address condemning criminal acts and crimes of genocide in all their forms. She emphasized the importance of raising societal and academic awareness in confronting such violations.
The program featured two lectures:
The First Lecture: Delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Rabee Aziz and entitled “Victims Have the Right to Know the Truth: Mass Graves”. The lecture addressed the importance of uncovering the facts related to mass graves and highlighted the humanitarian and legal implications of genocide crimes.
The Second Lecture: Presented by Cybersecurity Engineer Ahmed Ali Nozat under the title “Genocide and the Role of Digital Advancement: When Difference Becomes a Crime”. The lecture shed light on the role of modern technology and digital transformation in documenting violations, combating hate speech, and promoting awareness of human rights.
These lectures were organized as part of the College’s ongoing activities aimed at fostering a culture of human rights, reinforcing the values of justice, and promoting respect for human dignity among members of the academic community.
